Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive
Network Engineer
with hands-on experience in
Extreme Networks switching technologies . The ideal candidate will be
responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level
network infrastructure with a focus on Extreme switches, ensuring high
availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage Layer 2/3 network infrastructure using
Extreme Networks switches (e.g., 5320, 5520, VSP series).
Configure and troubleshoot Extreme XOS and Fabric Connect technologies.
Implement and manage network segmentation, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and multicast
protocols.
Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues using tools like Extreme
Cloud IQ .
Collaborate with IT teams to support network-related needs for data centers,
campuses, and remote offices.
Maintain documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and standard
operating procedures.
Ensure network security through MACsec, ACLs, and port security .
Participate in on-call rotation and provide Level 2/3 support for network
incidents.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related
field.
3 – 7 years of experience in enterprise networking.
Proven expertise with Extreme Networks switches and management platforms .
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security .
Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
Certifications such as Extreme Certified Specialist (ECS) or Extreme Certified
Professional (ECP) are highly desirable.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
