Job Title: IT – Project Management – Senior Business Analyst
Location:I-10/Energy Corridor of Houston, TX – Hybrid work 3 days onsite and 2 day remote
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Information Technology Business Analyst with a strong understanding of upstream oil and gas operations and production optimization. Initial focus will be in the area of production engineering and optimization but will expand later to other aspects of daily upstream oil and gas field operations. Candidate will assist in the development of requirements, workflow analysis and development, research of technology solutions in the industry, and navigate administrative processes within the Information Technology organization. Candidate will also be asked to perform limited scrum master duties for a technical delivery team.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements related to upstream oil and gas business workflows and processes.
Process Analysis: Analyze existing business processes and identify areas where technology can be leveraged to streamline operations, improve decision-making, and enhance productivity.
Solution Design: Work with technical teams and architects to translate business requirements into IT solutions, including software applications, data analytics, and system integrations.
Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret data related to oil and gas operations, providing insights to support business decisions and optimize processes.
Vendor Management: Identify, research, and evaluate external vendors and solutions they offer within the targeted business workflows.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and project status reports.
Scrum Master: Serve as a limited scrum master for a shared technical delivery team.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the upstream oil and gas operations and production sector.
Strong understanding of oil and gas operations and industry-specific challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders in both business and IT functions.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools.
Familiarity with industry-specific software and technologies.
