NEED FOR MAINFRAME DEVELOPER 12+ @HYBRID

Job Title: Mainframe Developer 12+
Locations: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ Months

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mainframe Developer to join our dynamic technology team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in mainframe systems, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS, with a strong background in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining large-scale enterprise applications. This role will support mission-critical systems for our business operations across multiple locations including NJ/NYC, Boston, and Dallas.

 Key Responsibilities:

·         Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.

·         Analyze and enhance existing applications to meet evolving business needs.

·         Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.

·         Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

·         Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.

·         Ensure compliance with coding standards, best practices, and security protocols.

·         Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and project planning activities.

·         Support application deployments and post-implementation reviews.

 
Required Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

·         5+ years of experience in mainframe development environments.

·         Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM.

·         Experience with mainframe tools such as Endevor, Abend-AID, File-AID, Changeman, or Panvalet.

·         Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall development methodologies.

·         Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 
Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience working in the financial services industry.

·         Exposure to modernization efforts or mainframe-to-cloud migration strategies.

·         Knowledge of REXX, EZtrieve, or assembler is a plus.
