Overview

We are seeking a talented Software Design Engineer II to join our team, focused on advancing Microsoft’s flighting capabilities. As a full-stack developer leveraging Microsoft technologies, you will design, develop, and optimize systems to make our flighting processes more efficient, scalable, reliable, and secure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that empower rapid and safe deployment of features to millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Microsoft technologies (e.g., C#, .NET, Azure, ASP.NET, SQL Server).
• Enhance flighting systems to improve efficiency, scalability, reliability, and security for feature rollouts.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
• Optimize backend services and APIs for performance and scalability.
• Build responsive and intuitive front-end interfaces using frameworks like Blazor or Angular.
• Implement secure coding practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in production and non-production environments.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps for flighting infrastructure.
• Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of professional software development experience with full-stack technologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft technology stack: C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET, Azure, and SQL Server.
• Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., Blazor, Angular, or React).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, for building scalable solutions.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred

• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with flighting, A/B testing, or feature management systems.
• Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Understanding of performance optimization techniques for web and backend systems.
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities.
