Job Title: Power BI Implementation Lead
Client: City of Boston
Duration: 06 Months (Possibility of Extension)
Location: Boston, MA 02201(hybrid)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The City of Boston’s Data Analytics team is at the forefront of leveraging data-driven insights toenhance decision-making and improve the overall efficiency of municipal operations. As part ofour commitment to innovation, we are undergoing a strategic migration from Tableau to Power
BI to enhance our business intelligence capabilities. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power BI Implementation Lead to spearhead this transition and drive the successful adoption of Power BI across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership:
– Lead the end-to-end implementation of Power BI, including planning, design, configuration,
testing, and deployment.
2. Strategic Planning:
– Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy from Tableau to Power BI, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
– Work closely with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and design dashboards that provide actionable insights.
3. Training and Adoption:
– Develop documentation and best practices to support the ongoing use and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards.
4. Quality Assurance:
– Establish and enforce data quality standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of Power BI reports.
– Implement robust testing procedures to identify and resolve issues during the migration process.
5. Technical Expertise:
– Troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with technical support when necessary.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
– Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including department heads, analysts, and IT teams.
– Communicate project status, risks, and issues to leadership in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
– Proven experience in leading successful Power BI implementations, preferably in a government or municipal setting.
– Strong understanding of Power BI configuration and administration
– Excellent project management and organizational skills.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
– Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and other relevant technologies.
– Knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization principle
