Job Role: Network Engineer
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Duration : Long Term Contract
MUST have skills – Netbrain
• Responsible for engineering and implementation of provider network updates.
• Platform Roll outs in support of IOS-XR / IOS-XE devices.
• New configuration development and deployment for Provider Network Edge routers, associated to EPNM system updates, and setup to have EPNM installed into Production.
• Support development/automation activities via the coordination with the Network Services Network Engineers and development of the Netbrain platform for automating Mapping, Discovery, and daily actions/activities.
• Reduce manual activities performed by the Network Engineers (example: SOI network review – prior to SODVAL).
• Work with Compliance team in developing automated activities to prevent/reduce manual intervention for compliance actions.
• Network Fault Isolation and Repair; External Carrier Fault Resolution, and Maintenance activities. As well as Major Incident focus and related Break/Fix Change management.
• Responsible for engineering and operations of software-defined data center (SDDC) networking central to USAA's Colo strategy.
• Arista leaf-and-spine network engineering and operations.
• Conduct peer review and testing for other PCN team members.
• Tier 3 incident support for Arista networks.
• Focused on Network Operational Data Store, which provides accessible dictionary of network elements to Ansible playbooks.
• Assist to expand NODS to enable identifying CIs missing from SNOW.
• Enable visualization of NODS data using Tableau.
• Provide automation for reporting and evidencing of key ITGCs (esp. patch management, baseline compliance, and other time-consuming activities).
• Manage network management platforms (Cisco Prime, DNAC, DCNM, EPNM, NetScout, NetBrain, DX NetOps, and Cisco Collector).
• Ongoing administration and support of those tools, including supporting other network engineers who leverage those tools.
• Leading deployment of network tap aggregators and supporting Voice, Infosec teams who need access to those network taps.
• Focused on Network Operational Data Store, which provides accessible dictionary of network elements to Ansible playbooks.
• Assist to expand NODS to enable identifying CIs missing from SNOW.
• Improving extensibility and flexibility to extend API to full network fleet.
