Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure Databricks Architect for a remote, short-term (4–6+ months) contract engagement. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on architect-level expert with deep knowledge of Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture, and Azure Data Factory, capable of driving solution design, implementation, and performance optimization across a modern Azure data stack.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect and implement large-scale data lakehouse solutions using Azure Databricks, ADF, and Delta Lake.
Collaborate with business analysts and data engineers to translate business requirements into scalable data models and pipelines.
Define and establish data governance, security models, and RBAC for enterprise-grade deployments.
Build reusable, optimized PySpark notebooks and data ingestion pipelines.
Lead and support CI/CD implementation using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Optimize cost, performance, and reliability of Databricks workloads.

Must-Have Qualifications:

10+ years in Data Engineering or Architecture roles.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and ADF.
Proven experience implementing Lakehouse or Delta Lake architectures at scale.
Strong PySpark, SQL, and data transformation skills.
Solid understanding of Azure security and networking (Key Vault, VNet integration, RBAC).
Experience with CI/CD, Terraform, and Azure DevOps.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice-to-Have:

Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI.
Certifications like DP-203, AZ-305, or Databricks Certified Professional Data Engineer.
Exposure to MLflow or MLOps workflows on Databricks.
