Role and Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven GRC Analyst with strong experience in Business Intelligence (BI) tools and Information Security to join our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team. This role combines data analysis, risk mitigation, and control assurance to ensure cybersecurity and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a background in GRC processes, deep analytical capabilities, and expertise in BI platforms to drive data-informed decisions and risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze complex datasets to derive actionable insights, conclusions, and strategic recommendations.
Develop and deliver reporting solutions using BI platforms such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Business Objects, DB2, Excel, and others.
Collaborate with Information Security, IT, and business units to align findings with business needs and technical capabilities.
Recommend and coordinate remediation actions to mitigate identified risks, including escalating high-risk changes for appropriate treatment.
Identify operational roadblocks and implement timely countermeasures to improve the organization's security posture.
Provide subject matter expertise in GRC and Information Security, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational policy.
Support audit, compliance, and risk assessment activities with data-driven insights and control validations.
Contribute to security initiatives and drive continuous improvement in cyber hygiene and control effectiveness.
Assist in the logical and physical design of databases to support secure and scalable data analysis environments.
Champion the adoption of secure development practices in accordance with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Prepare clear, concise, and actionable reports for both technical and executive stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
3+ years of experience in GRC, Information Security, or IT Risk Management; experience in financial services or securities industry is a plus.
Strong technical proficiency with BI/reporting tools: Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SQL, Business Objects, Excel/PowerPoint, etc.
Hands-on experience with database querying, data modeling, and report/dashboard creation.
Familiarity with IT risk and control frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, SOX, etc.).
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to interpret and communicate data insights effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
Working knowledge of GRC platforms (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow GRC, MetricStream).
Understanding of data privacy laws and cybersecurity regulations.
Experience performing or supporting audits, risk assessments, or regulatory reviews.
