Key responsibilities:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, understand data sources, and define key performance indicators (KPIs) for Tableau dashboards and reports.
• Design and develop interactive and intuitive Tableau dashboards, visualizations, and reports that provide meaningful insights into business performance and trends.
• Create complex calculations, custom SQL queries, and data models in Tableau to support advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making.
• Optimize Tableau dashboards and workbooks for performance, scalability, and usability, ensuring an efficient user experience.
• Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data in Tableau visualizations.
• Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, and data scientists to integrate Tableau solutions with other BI tools and platforms as part of end-to-end BI solutions.
• Stay updated with Tableau best practices, new features, and industry trends, incorporating them into Tableau development strategies.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior Tableau developers and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, and prioritization activities, ensuring timely delivery of Tableau solutions and meeting project deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, presenting Tableau dashboards and reports, explaining insights, and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in Tableau development, including designing and building complex dashboards, visualizations, and reports.
• Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Tableau Prep Builder, and Tableau Online, with expertise in data blending, calculations, and advanced analytics.
• Solid understanding of data visualization principles, dashboard design best practices, and user experience (UX) design concepts.
• Experience with SQL, data modeling, and ETL processes, with the ability to write efficient SQL queries and optimize data sources for Tableau.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a focus on delivering actionable insights from data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications in Tableau (e.g., Tableau Desktop Certified Professional) are highly desirable.
