Job Description:
The Client IT Division seeks a Software Developer to support modernization efforts for the Client’s complex casework management systems, including IMPACT, PACES, PEIRS, NEICE, SSCC, ABCS, Child Placement Portal, Incentives and Remedies, Community Based Care, and other operational projects.
The Developer will work with cross-functional technical teams—including team leads, developers, UI/UX engineers, and testing analysts—to plan, coordinate, and execute modernization activities for existing Client Enterprise Java web applications. This role involves collaboration with PMO, CTO, and Systems Development Resources to prioritize work and recommend solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Define and develop low-level design documents.
Contribute to and follow software engineering best practices to deliver standardized, robust solutions.
Collaborate with Business Analysis and Project Management to align on requirements and priorities.
Participate in the design and development of new and existing components.
Perform full stack development (Database, Services, Web Applications, Front-End).
Write scalable, high-availability code following design principles and best practices.
Conduct code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, test automation, CI/CD.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
Track and report on SDLC activity metrics (requirements, coding, testing, defects, usability, etc.).
Provide Level of Effort (LOE) estimates for development tasks.
Mentor and guide junior developers by simplifying complex design concepts.
Foster a collaborative team culture across technical and functional teams.

5+ years in technical documentation (Design Docs, Standards, Config Plans).
3+ years of experience in agile development teams.
3 years with static code analysis tools (SonarQube or similar).
2 years of experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) / Section 508 compliance.
