Role Description:
You will work closely with project leads and business analysts to gather and clarify complex technical requirements, including logical and physical data modeling. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Snowflake and IBM Infosphere DataStage (or similar cloud-based ETL tools), with a strong foundation in SQL and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements and existing data infrastructure to propose and implement effective ETL/ELT solutions.
- Design and develop ETL pipelines for banking data transactions using IBM
- Infosphere DataStage or other modern ETL platforms.
- Work collaboratively with business and technical teams to define data models and integration processes.
- Develop, enhance, debug, maintain, and test software applications across diverse platforms.
- Utilize Snowflake for cloud data operations, applying advanced SQL capabilities.
- Participate in implementation of applications on Linux grid environments using IBM IIS tools like DataStage and QualityStage.
- Manage job automation and scheduling using Control-M or equivalent tools.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of relevant IT experience in ETL/DataStage or other cloud-based ETL tools.
- Proven expertise in Snowflake development and SQL.
- Strong experience with databases such as Oracle, Netezza, MS SQL Server 2012+, DB2, and MS Access.
- Proficiency in job automation and scheduling software, especially Control-M.
- Solid understanding of ELT methodologies and practices.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with tools and technologies like dbt (data build tool), Kafka, Python, UNIX/Linux, and Windows.
- Experience with file transfer utilities and process flow creation.
- Understanding of core data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
- Experience with Hadoop is a plus.
- SnowPro certification is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of SAS is a plus.
