📝 Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Linux Engineer with a strong background in RHEL, automation, and public safety infrastructure. Candidates with experience working on police or fire department systems for clients like Motorola, Raytheon, Northrop, Homeland Security, or Conduent will be given top priority. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of Unix/Linux systems engineering, virtualization, and automation expertise, particularly in mission-critical environments such as government or local agency projects.

🔑 Key Responsibilities:

Engineer and administer Veritas Cluster Server, Volume Manager, and other replication/clustering technologies.
Perform performance tuning on Unix/Linux systems using advanced utilities.
Administer and support Red Hat Linux, Solaris, and AIX on physical and virtual platforms.
Design, implement, and maintain SAN storage related to Unix/Linux infrastructure.
Manage LDAP, DNS, and lifecycle processes in complex, secure environments.
Provision and maintain bare metal installations and automation tools for system deployment.
Use bash/ksh, Perl, or Python for scripting and automation.
Support database integrations including Oracle, MySQL, db2, Percona XtraDB Cluster.
Utilize monitoring, deployment, and security tools including Tivoli, Bladelogic, NetIQ, RedHat Satellite Server.
Create architecture diagrams and documentation using Visio.
Administer VMware ESXi environments, perform diagnostics, and manage performance.

✅ Mandatory Skills & Experience:

10+ years of experience with RHEL, virtualization, and automation.
LDAP, DNS, lifecycle management, Visio documentation.
Expertise with Veritas, UNIX/Linux (RHEL, Solaris, AIX), and SAN storage.
Strong scripting skills in bash, Perl, Python.
Experience with public safety, defense, or homeland security clients preferred.

🎯 Candidate Prioritization:

Top Priority: Candidates with experience supporting Police, Fire, or Public Safety projects (Motorola, Raytheon, Northrop, etc.).
Second Priority: Experience with local government agencies or contracts.
Third Priority: Candidates from enterprise-level clients with local project deployments.
