Job Summary:
We are seeking a System Administrator to assist with security vulnerabilities patching, application updates, and deployments. This position will focus heavily on providing technical support related to security vulnerabilities, patching, and application updates using tools like Tanium. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting both Windows and Linux-based systems and will be responsible for maintaining systems, supporting hardware and software, and deploying updates.
Key Responsibilities:
-Security Vulnerabilities Patching and Application Updates/Deployments (80%)
Assist in the mission and support of the Tanium application and systems.
-Monitor and follow up on assigned incidents, problems, and change requests.
-Follow up on resolved/closed tickets to ensure customer satisfaction.
-Provide support for hardware and software issues both remotely and on-site.
-Provide resolution and assistance for Windows Server and Linux-based systems.
-Support Physical and Virtual server environments.
-Deploy new or rebuilt computers and technology equipment per OIT’s security and operational policies.
-Support software patching, updates, and deployments.
-Collaborate with Network, Application, Database, and Server teams to resolve issues.
-Provide after-hours support for patching and updating security vulnerabilities.
-Respond to urgent security incidents during and after business hours.
-Log and track service incidents using the ticketing system.
-IT and Customer Service Management (10%)
-Follow OIT Change Management (RFC) processes.
-Track hardware and software assets.
-Assist in ensuring systems are patched and updated using Tanium per OIT policies.
-Provide recommendations to leadership and compliance teams regarding software and hardware upgrades.
-Assist with determining if hardware driver or firmware updates require onsite visits.
-Organizational and Project Commitment (5%)
-Assist in implementing OIT projects by participating in team meetings and tracking tasks.
-Complete internal OIT training and engage in professional development.
-Share knowledge or skills via mini training sessions with the team.
-Assist with researching compatibility for legacy software and utilizing the recommended OS mode for installations.
-Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
-Assist in decommissioning servers and addressing technical debt.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a systems administrator within a Windows or Linux environment.
Experience in security patching, application deployment, and troubleshooting.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional IT teams.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent communication skills to provide support and follow up with customers.
