Java Backend Developer

Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Java Backend Developer to join our dynamic team onsite in Texas or Virginia. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kotlin, Spring Boot, and AWS-based microservices. You will play a key role in building scalable backend systems, integrating with enterprise platforms, and ensuring reliable performance in production environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Kotlin and Spring Boot
Deploy and manage microservices on AWS, primarily using ECS and Fargate
Integrate backend systems with ServiceNow and handle data workflows
Create and maintain clear and accurate API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI
Debug and resolve production issues within AWS-hosted services
Monitor service health and performance using Splunk and related tools
Collaborate effectively with development teams using GitHub for version control, pull requests, and workflow automation

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Strong experience with Java and Kotlin in backend development
Proficiency in Spring Boot, including dependency injection, JPA, and REST services
Hands-on experience with AWS services, especially ECS, Fargate, CloudWatch
Familiarity with ServiceNow integrations and API-based data exchange
Ability to write and maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI standards
Solid understanding of GitHub workflows and version control best practices
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk
Strong analytical and debugging skills in cloud-based environments
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
