Overview:

Senior-level role handling advanced system administration for agency mainframe applications and infrastructure.
Manages daily mainframe tasks like configuration, break/fix support, and user account setup.
Supports security, performance monitoring, and system maintenance.
Coordinates with Data Center (DCS), Network, Customer Support, and Application teams for smooth mainframe operations.
Nice to have: experience with Informatica Power Exchange (CDC with IMS/VSAM).
Key Responsibilities:

Act as subject matter expert for z/OS operating system and components.
Plan, implement, test, and support OS, network, and software upgrades/changes.
Provide end-user support for ISV tools (e.g., BlueZone) and administer SCLM.
Administer and support CICS and IMS.
Troubleshoot platform/software issues and perform root cause analysis.
Analyze performance issues and help with capacity planning and tuning.
Recommend system parameters and manage system libraries.
Provide technical consultation to other IT teams and lead/participate in z/OS-related projects.
Support integration testing of new products with existing applications.
Maintain and support mainframe production control, support jobs, and job scheduler.

Skills & Experience:

Required:

5+ years: z/OS Systems Programming
5+ years: Mainframe system administration
5+ years: JES2, z/OS Unix (OMVS), SMS
3+ years: TSS (Top Secret Security)
3+ years: Performance monitoring and initial performance analysis
2+ years: REXX
Preferred:

Informatica Power Exchange Administration (CDC with IMS/VSAM) – 3 yrs
Working knowledge of:

z/OS Operations, z/OS Networking (VTAM, TCP/IP)
Job scheduling (JOBTRAC), BlueZone terminal emulator, VTAM Session Manager (VTAM/SWITCH)
SMP/E, RMF, SMF, WLM, JCL
GRS, VSAM, TSO
Experience with TLS configuration (certs, SSL, RSA keys, SFTP, FTPS)
SCLM configuration/administration (or similar tools)
CPM for JOBTRAC
