Job Title: Teradata Infrastructure DBA – SOX Compliance

Location: Seattle, WA

 

 

Job Summary:

The Teradata Infrastructure DBA – SOX Compliance is responsible for managing and maintaining Teradata databases in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements. This role ensures the integrity, security, and availability of Teradata systems while adhering to regulatory standards. The DBA will work closely with IT, audit, and compliance teams to implement controls and documentation practices necessary for SOX compliance.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration:
Administer and maintain Teradata databases, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
Monitor database health, performance, and availability to ensure optimal operation.
Perform regular backups and disaster recovery testing to ensure data integrity and availability.
SOX Compliance:

 

Implement and enforce SOX compliance controls within Teradata database environments.
Develop and maintain documentation related to database security, access controls, and change management.
Work with internal and external auditors to support SOX compliance audits and address any findings or recommendations.
Access and Security Management:
Manage database user access, roles, and permissions in compliance with SOX requirements.
Monitor and audit database access and usage to detect and respond to potential security incidents.
Implement and manage encryption and other security measures to protect sensitive data.

 

Change Management:
Ensure all database changes are documented, tested, and approved in accordance with change management procedures.
Participate in change management processes to assess the impact of proposed changes on compliance and security.
Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand data requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues, including performance and security concerns.
Documentation and Reporting:

 

Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, security controls, and compliance-related activities.
Prepare and present reports on database compliance status, security incidents, and audit findings.
Requirements:

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience with Teradata database administration, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and experience in a regulated environment is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:

 

Strong understanding of Teradata architecture, database security, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and best practices for IT controls.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot database issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Certifications:
Relevant Teradata certifications (e.g., Teradata Certified Professional) are a plus.
SOX or IT compliance-related certifications (e.g., CISA) are advantageous.
