Performs work of considerable difficulty directing the overall operations of the Northern Middlesex Regional Emergency Communications Center (NMRECC). Manages the daily technical and administrative operations of the Center; assuring that goals and objectives are achieved to afford the citizens and public safety officers the best possible service delivery. Bachelor’s degree in planning, Communications, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Public Administration, or related field; experience in a managerial or leadership role within a Regional Emergency Communications Center preferred. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in emergency communications is required. A working knowledge of planning, budgeting and contract management, and administration is preferable. Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered. Must obtain or possess Certification as a Massachusetts 9-1-1 Telecommunicator, CPR/AED certified; valid driver’s license; the ability to obtain CJIS/NCIC certification. High level of experience in managing complex electronic and data retrieval systems operations is highly desirable. Additional experience with the following is desirable: Fire Station Alerting and paging systems; MA 9-1-1 Grant application and reimbursement processes, IMC Computer-Aided Dispatch System; Information technology systems; Munis accounting software, and Voice and data recording systems. Must successfully complete a public safety background investigation, including drug and alcohol screening, must maintain high levels of character and reputation.
