We are seeking a highly skilled Salesforce Data Cloud Architect with expertise in the pharmaceutical sector to design and implement Customer Data Platform (CDP) solutions focused on Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Patients. This role will lead the architecture of Salesforce Data Cloud (formerly known as Salesforce CDP) implementations, ensuring seamless data unification, compliance with industry regulations, and delivery of personalized experiences. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of pharma-specific use cases, including HCP engagement, patient adherence programs, and data-driven insights for clinical and commercial operations. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to transform fragmented data into actionable intelligence, driving better outcomes for patients and more effective interactions with HCPs.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect Data Cloud Solutions: Design scalable architectures using Salesforce Data Cloud to unify data from disparate sources such as Electronic Health Records (EHRs), claims databases, CRM systems, and external platforms. Focus on creating 360-degree views of HCPs and patients for personalized engagement
- CDP Use Case Development for Pharma: Develop and optimize CDP strategies tailored to pharma, including:
- For HCPs: Building unified profiles to identify next-best actions, personalize communications, track prescribing habits, and enhance field sales enablement through real-time insights on interactions and preferences
- For Patients: Enabling personalized care plans, proactive health management, medication adherence reminders, and outcome tracking by integrating data from wearables, telehealth, and support programs
- Data Modeling and Integration: Define data models, ingestion processes, identity resolution, and harmonization within Salesforce Data Cloud. Integrate with other Salesforce clouds (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud) and external systems like EHRs or third-party data providers
- Compliance and Security: Ensure all solutions adhere to pharma regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and HL7 FHIR standards. Implement secure data handling for sensitive patient and HCP information
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance on big data processing, AI-driven insights, and real-time workflows. Lead proof-of-concepts (POCs), troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with stakeholders to align solutions with business objectives
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize Data Cloud implementations for scalability, efficiency, and measurable outcomes like improved HCP satisfaction, patient adherence rates, and reduced manual tasks
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with clinical, medical, commercial, and IT teams to translate requirements into technical designs. Support agile project phases from discovery to deployment. 4
- Innovation and Best Practices: Stay updated on Salesforce advancements (e.g., Agentforce integration) and industry trends to recommend innovative features for pharma-specific challenges, such as real-world evidence generation and omnichannel patient services and marketing activation
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 8+ years in data architecture, with at least 2-3 years hands-on with Salesforce Data Cloud or similar CDPs.
- Proven experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, with a focus on HCP and patient data management
- Track record of leading complex implementations in regulated environments.
- Certifications: Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant or Architect certification preferred; additional Salesforce certifications (e.g., Technical Architect, Application Architect) are a plus
Required Skills
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce Data Cloud features, including data ingestion, modeling, segmentation, activation, and zero-copy architecture
- Proficiency in data technologies: SQL, APIs (e.g., FHIR), ETL processes.
- Understanding of pharma-specific data sources: EHR/EMR, claims, NPI for HCPs, and patient registries.
- Strong analytical skills for building predictive models, affinity scoring, and next-best-action recommendations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities to bridge business and technical teams.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration for insights like treatment gaps or persistence metrics.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud or Health Cloud for pharma use cases.
