Title: Data Governance Quality Engineer with Issue Management

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid: M-W Onsite & T-F Remote)

Duration: 12+ Months

Notes from the Hiring Manager:

Onsite 3 days per week in Pittsburgh

Contract to hire is ideally the goal

Issue management background (troubleshooting from a perspective of a data problem, understanding the lifecycle of an issue journey), working through the root cause analysis journey, stakeholder management

Previous experience with ServiceNow, Collibra, BI tools such as ThoughtSpot or PowerBI, Confluence, SharePoint are all big pluses

Excel (VLOOKUP)

Business Analysis/Data Analysis backgrounds are highly preferred

SQL queries but does not need to have a scripting background

 

Required Skills/Experience

Knowledge about Critical data element, Physical data element, data quality rules/dimensions

Partner with Subject Matter Expert and business or technology stakeholders to drive DQ controls development

Good analytical problem-solving capability

Create Data profiles to review data quality rules requirements

Basic SQL knowledge

Good communication as need to work with Developers, Line of business users and data quality stakeholders     

 

Preferred Skills/Experience

Experience in Collibra, IDQ/CDQ tools

In-depth understanding of issue management tool and process for SII and auto-generated issues to provide support and guidance to end users

Issue Management-related role:

Review auto-generated data quality issues and self-identified data issues from line of businesses (e.g., review issues reported, understand problem statement/root cause, perform quality assurance, survey for downstream impact and risk assessment) by coordinating and driving meetings with appropriate Subject Matter Expert.

Partner with Subject Matter Expert and business or technology stakeholders to drive high severity self-identified data issues to remediation.

Have an in-depth understanding of issue management tool (i.e., ServiceNow), business intelligence tool (i.e., ThoughtSpot), and the process (including issue lifecycle) for self-identified data and systematic generated issues to provide support and guidance to end users. Identify and solicit for improvement opportunities.

Perform operational activities to ensure data governance reporting / metrics are up to date.

Prepare power point deck for various data governance working groups/forums (e.g., Cross Data Issue, weekly business office hours) including finalizing agenda and documenting minutes with action items assigned to appropriate owner.

Create, enhance, and implement procedural document and training materials for Data Governance (how to guides, FAQs, rules of the road).
