Job description:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) while developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, optimizing system reliability, and ensuring the performance and security of our digital platforms. You will work closely with multiple teams and disciplines, contributing to architectural decisions and driving best practices in cloud operations and automation. Beyond your technical contributions, you will support continuous improvement initiatives across DevOps, Software Development, and Cloud Infrastructure teams. Your entrepreneurial mindset will be instrumental in navigating ambiguity within the organization, helping to enhance both technical efficiency and organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
● Broad Technical:
○ Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using GCP, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
○ Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment and updates.
○ Drive the adoption of best practices in infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and monitoring.
○ Troubleshoot complex technical issues, leading incident response and root cause analysis efforts.
● Cross-collaboration:
○ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and architects, to align DevOps initiatives with business goals.
○ Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation within the team.
● Infrastructure & Automation:
○ Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments.
○ Implement and maintain automation scripts for infrastructure management and application deployment using scripting languages like Python or Bash.
○ Design and enforce security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security, within GCP environments.
● Monitoring & Optimization:
○ Establish and maintain monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, or Grafana to ensure system reliability and performance.
○ Continuously analyze system performance metrics and implement improvements to optimize the performance and scalability of applications.
○ Define and enforce Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to maintain high system availability and reliability.
Required Qualifications:
● Education:
○ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
● Experience:
○ Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related field.
○ Extensive hands-on experience with GCP, including compute, networking, storage, and security services.
○ Proven expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
○ Strong experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes (GKE) and Docker.
○ Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
○ Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience with tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager.
● Skills:
○ Deep technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and automation.
○ Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
○ Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
○ Ability to balance technical work with management responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
