Job Title: Infrastructure Operations Engineer

The Infrastructure Operations Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality service, advice, and technical support for services within the IT infrastructure. This role requires a commitment to customer service excellence, operational efficiency, and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the design and architecture of IT infrastructure, both on-premises and in the public cloud. This position involves design and hands on technical capabilities to ensure the delivery of IT infrastructure projects, support, and maintenance.
Assist in the day-to-day operations of in-scope services, ensuring the stability and integrity of mission-critical infrastructure, applications, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of new infrastructure projects and deployments, ensuring compliance with SLAs and performance metrics.
- Assist in managing the daily operations of on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure components for in-scope services.
- Collaborate with other technology tower leads as needed to drive service improvements and operational excellence.
- Collaborating with outsourced service providers, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and service quality.
- Monitor and evaluate provider performance, implementing corrective measures as needed to maintain high standards.
- Lead initiatives to enhance operational processes and service delivery.
- Provide expert advice and support to users, focusing on efficient problem resolution and user satisfaction.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of service roadmaps, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Work closely with architects to align solutions and other services with business objectives.
- Work closely with Infrastructure leadership to ensure technical support teams comply with IT Service Management policies and processes, leading initiatives to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to leverage in-depth understanding of support requirements, conducting regular reviews of operational readiness criteria to ensure the stability, supportability, and scalability of new or modified solutions.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration to drive resolution of complex issues with support from other IT groups as required
- Assist in day-to-day IT service delivery escalations relative to operational performance of hosting and compute support teams
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert in core infrastructure technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent industry experience
- 10+ years of experience in IT service management for various IT Infrastructures
- Proficiency with deploying new Infrastructure technologies and solutions.
- Strong understanding of network and security protocols.
- Experience in designing and implementing infrastructure solutions from initial phases to completion.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Experience driving operational improvements with MSPs.
- 5+ years of experience with Virtualization technologies such as VMware
- 5+ years of experience with Cloud Operations
- Administrative knowledge in Microsoft technologies including Server Operating Systems, O365, Azure, and Linux
- Advanced Administration of Active Directory
