Job Title: AWS Cloud Lead Engineer.
Location: Chicago, IL (4-5 days from office)
Type: : Long Term Contract
Responsibilities
- Mentor and advise multiple technical teams to advance financial technologies.
- Execute public cloud migrations of complex systems, anticipating problems and mitigating risks.
- Develop creative software solutions, design, and technical troubleshooting.
- Own end-to-end platform issues and provide solutions to platform build and performance issues on AWS Cloud.
- Drive and support the strategy to build broad use of Amazon’s utility computing web services.
- Design resilient, secure, and high-performing platforms in Public Cloud using best practices.
- Measure and optimize system performance to improve capabilities and meet customer needs.
- Provide operational support and engineering for the public cloud platform, debugging and optimizing systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop real-world solutions and enhance user experiences.
- Utilize programming languages and AWS tools to deliver effective solutions.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts.
- 10+ years of applied experience in software engineering.
- Deep understanding of Cloud Technologies, particularly Public Cloud and AWS
- Demonstrated experience in crafting well-architected designs, application development, testing, resiliency and operational stability to utilize the capabilities of cloud computing for applications
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably .Net.
- Strong understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design, performance, and monitoring.
- Experience designing and building web environments on AWS, including services like EC2, ALB, NLB, Aurora Postgres, DynamoDB, EKS, ECS, and S3.
- Advanced knowledge of modern technologies (preferably .Net), Microservices, AWS, or Cloud Foundry, and Kubernetes.
- Experience using DevOps tools in a cloud environment, such as Artifactory, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven, and Sonar Qube.
- Experience writing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Environment-as-Code (EaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience with high volume, SLA critical applications, and building upon messaging and event-driven architectures.
- Deep understanding of the financial industry and its IT systems.
- Experience in building AWS infrastructure like VPC, EKS, EC2, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, MFTS, Route53, ALB, and NLB.
- Experience with high volume, mission-critical applications and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
- Experience with logging, observability, and monitoring tools including Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, or Grafana.
- Experience with microservices architecture and their interdependencies with other applications, microservices, and databases.
