Role Overview:
As the primary architect of our flattened FHIR dataset, you will be responsible for transforming highly nested, hierarchical data into high-performance, analytic-friendly schemas within Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise in GCP and deep domain knowledge in healthcare standards—specifically the Unified Data Model for Healthcare (UDMH) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). Your goal is to create a reusable framework that aligns with downstream analytics and specific clinical and financial use cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Schema Design: Own the end-to-end design of flattened schemas optimized for BigQuery and downstream “serve views”.
- Flattening Strategy: Develop mapping patterns that transform nested FHIR structures into relational or semi-relational models without losing data integrity.
- UDMH Implementation: Utilize UDMH modeling knowledge to ensure schemas are standardized and scalable across clinical and financial domains.
- RCM Integration: Apply Revenue Cycle Management expertise to ensure data models support billing, claims, and financial reporting workflows.
- Framework Development: Establish data modeling standards and reusable patterns to ensure scalability across multiple clinical domains.
- GCP Alignment: Partner with engineering teams to ensure the data model supports high-concurrency analytics and reporting tools.
Qualifications
- GCP Expertise: Proven experience in data modeling specifically for Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery and Dataflow.
- Data Transformation: Extensive experience transforming No-SQL/Nested structures, such as JSON and FHIR, into flattened schemas.
- Healthcare Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare data architectures, normalization strategies, and clinical data structures.
- Specialized Knowledge: Expert-level knowledge of UDMH modeling and professional exposure to Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) workflows.
