Job Description:
The cloud architect is responsible for the cloud computing initiatives within an organization and for directing the architectural aspects of a cloud brokering team across all aspects of IT and the business. Responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization’s cloud computing infrastructure and applications. Implements and designs hardware and software. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

Cloud infrastructure and network architecture
Cloud modernization and transformation
Data center operations / hybrid cloud
Cloud security, governance and compliance
HIPAA and enterprise security best practices
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Terraform / Ansible / AWS CloudFormation / Azure ARM
Docker / Kubernetes
Kubernetes architecture, deployment, scaling and maintenance
Microservices and serverless infrastructure
CI/CD and DevOps
Bash / Korn / PowerShell / Cloud CLI / Kubernetes Helm
YAML / JSON / HCL
Cloud monitoring, logging and auditing
Azure Monitor / AWS CloudWatch / Dynatrace / Sysdig Secure
API and cloud service integrations
Strong technical documentation and diagramming
Visio, Microsoft Office and MS Project
Agile / Scrum methodology
Strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills
 Key Responsibilities
Lead cloud architecture and IT modernization initiatives
Develop architectural blueprints, network topologies and technical specifications
Analyze business and technical requirements
Lead migration from on-premises to public, private and hybrid cloud
Drive cross-functional initiatives across IT groups and state entities
Evaluate and present architectural solutions
Implement IaC and integration pipelines
Establish cloud security, identity and access controls
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and applicable security standards
Design and administer scalable cloud-based systems
Lead solution implementation, testing and deployment
Identify current-state vs. desired-state gaps and develop remediation approaches
Lead technical teams and establish best practices
Support training and knowledge transfer
