IMPORTANT: This position is for a hands-on Application IMS DBA, not for a DB2 DBA.
Required Skills:
The client requires the services of 1 Mainframe IMS Application Database Administrator, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of a Software Engineer Level 2, and the specifications outlined in this document for the client.

Required Technical Skills:

7+ years of experience with z/OS Mainframe Systems.
5+ years of Mainframe IMS Application Database Administration.
Strong experience with DBRC and Forward Recoveries.
IMS Database Performance Monitoring and Tuning.
IMS Database Backup, Recovery, and Troubleshooting.
DBRC / RECONS and IMS Utilities.
IMS Database Descriptions (DBD), Database Reorganization.
JCL Development and Troubleshooting.
COBOL, CICS, IMS Programming and Batch Processing.
VSAM, TSO, SDSF, SYSVIEW, and ISPF.
REXX Programming and Debugging.
IMS HAL Databases and IMS Catalog.
Preferred Skills:

Top Secret Administration.
IPPrintway and Mainframe Printer Assignments.
ISPF Panels, Skeletons, and REXX.
ISMF Storage Functions.
Batch SFTP / FTPS Processing.
Informatica PowerExchange.
Experience with logically related IMS Application Databases.
Key Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain IMS application databases across Development, Test, and Production environments.
Perform database performance monitoring, tuning, backup, and recovery.
Handle DBRC issues, forward recoveries, and production abends.
Support application teams with IMS database troubleshooting.
Coordinate mainframe software upgrades and Disaster Recovery testing.
Maintain production control jobs, JCL procedures, and batch schedules.
Provide technical support to programmers and operations teams.
Support after-hours mainframe batch operations.
