Role Overview
Senior Ab Initio ETL Developer with strong experience in
Data Integration / Data Warehouse environments. The role requires deep hands-on expertise in
Ab Initio ETL development, metadata management, data quality, performance tuning, and Hadoop-based data platforms.
This is a
hands-on engineering role, not a support-only position.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain
ETL solutions using Ab Initio
Build
continuous and batch Ab Initio graphs and
Conduct>It plans
Work extensively with
Ab Initio GDE, EME, MDH, BRE, Control Center
Implement
data acquisition, transformation, and curation pipelines for data lake and warehouse platforms
Integrate Ab Initio with
heterogeneous data sources (Oracle, DB2, Teradata, Hadoop, Hive, AWS S3, Snowflake)
Develop
BRE rulesets for validation, reformat, and rollup use cases
Implement
CDC (Change Data Capture) using Ab Initio
Perform
performance tuning and optimization of ETL graphs
Build
Control Center jobs and schedules for orchestration
Develop CI/CD pipelines using
Testing Framework, JUnit, Jenkins, JIRA, ServiceNow
Ensure code quality, automated testing, governance, and compliance standards
Troubleshoot production issues and mentor junior developers
Required Skills (Must-Have)
7+ years overall IT experience in
Data Integration / Data Warehouse
6+ years hands-on
Ab Initio ETL development
Strong experience with
Ab Initio MDH, DQ checks, EME, GDE
Strong SQL and
UNIX scripting
Experience on
Hadoop platform (Cloudera preferred)
Experience with
parallelism techniques (Data, Pipeline, Component parallelism)
Strong knowledge of
Ab Initio components (Rollup, Scan, Join, Partition by Key, Gather, Lookup, Merge, Interleave, etc.)
Experience parsing
XML, JSON, YAML
Strong understanding of
ETL design (HLD, LLD, mapping specs)
Agile & Waterfall methodology exposure
