GCP Architect
A GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Architect is a professional responsible for designing and implementing solutions on Google Cloud Platform. - Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Leveraging tools like Google Cloud Deployment Manager or Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- Networking: Designing and configuring networking solutions, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, load balancers, and VPNs for secure and efficient data traffic.
- Compute: Selecting and configuring the appropriate compute resources such as virtual machines (VMs), Kubernetes clusters, and serverless computing options like Google Cloud Functions.
- Storage: Designing storage solutions using services like Google Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Bigtable, and Cloud Storage for Firebase.
- Data and Analytics: Building data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics solutions using Google Cloud services like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataprep.
- Security and Identity: Implementing security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and encryption to protect data and resources in the cloud.
- Cost Optimization: Managing and optimizing cloud costs by choosing the right pricing models, monitoring resource usage, and implementing cost-saving strategies.
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Ensuring that systems are highly available and designing disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of failures.
- Monitoring and Logging: Setting up monitoring and logging solutions to track the health and performance of cloud resources and applications.
- Compliance: Ensuring that solutions adhere to industry-specific compliance requirements and best practices.
- Documentation and Training: Providing documentation and training to other team members and stakeholders on the architecture and best practices.
GCP Architects need to stay updated with the latest GCP services and features to design innovative and efficient cloud solutions.
