Job Title: GCP Cloud Engineer with Python & SQL
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite / Hybrid)
About the Role:
- We are looking for a skilled GCP Engineer with a strong background in Python and SQL to join our cloud engineering team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- You will play a key role in building robust data pipelines, automating workflows, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable data processing pipelines on GCP using tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Functions.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for ETL/ELT processes, data transformations, and automation tasks.
- Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across large datasets.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and DevOps engineers to ensure data integrity and platform efficiency.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud-based data workflows and pipelines.
- Implement security and compliance best practices across cloud solutions.
- Contribute to cloud architecture design and provide technical guidance on GCP services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficiency in Python, with experience in writing reusable, testable, and efficient code.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with large-scale relational or columnar databases (e.g., BigQuery, PostgreSQL).
- Hands-on experience with GCP services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Composer, and Cloud Functions.
- Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Git, Docker, and containerized deployment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GCP Professional Cloud Engineer or Data Engineer certification.
- Experience with Apache Airflow (especially via Cloud Composer).
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing best practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
