Position:  Hadoop Data Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)

Job description:

Responsibilities:

·         Design, develop, and maintain Hadoop-based data processing applications.

·         Build, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Hadoop infrastructure.

·         Develop tools and libraries to support data access and processing.

·         Write and optimize Map Reduce programs.

·         Implement data ingestion processes to load data into Hadoop.

·         Perform root cause analysis on data and processes to identify improvement opportunities.

·         Collaborate with data scientists and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

Requirements:

·         Proficiency in Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN, Map Reduce, Hive, HBase, etc.).

·         Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or Scala.

·         Experience with distributed computing frameworks like Spark.

·         Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational database management.

·         Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

·         Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

·         Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

·         Knowledge of data security and governance practices.

·         Prior experience in a similar role or industry.
