Hybrid Python AWS Developer w Certified VA OR TX Locals ONLY

Python AWS Developer (with Gen AI)

Onsite in Reston, VA or Plano, TX -hybrid schedule ( 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Duration – through JAN 2026 likely

GEN AI is required

Required:

  • Python Programming
  • AWS Development: Ec2, EMR, S3,  Lambda, Redshift, Aurora, Oracle, SageMaker – know how to troubleshoot issues – help with memory configuration, troubleshoot failures – helping business units set up infrastructure
  • heavy data focus, SMS and SQS (data movement – within reason and across. Should have most of the services (don’t have to have all).
  • Implementations. Must have development with aws and python Development-will train on implementation if don’t have.
  • GEN AI experience
  • Prior Fannie is a plus

 

NOTES from manager:
Aws is very vast. Lot of services. Don’t want them to know all. Just a few services that they are expected to know, should have in-depth knowledge of them. (they don’t need all 20 services)  For the ones they know- they must have implementation w/ that service.

They are supporting, applications that are live. Doing cloud migrations. When apps come to her team if have issue. If ec2 goes down, her team troubleshoots why go down. Look at perf issues. Those are the implementation issues.

Interview prep: Candidate will Name what service they have and interviewer will do a deep dive. They give candidate opportunity to talk about the services they are most comfortable with and go into implementation scenarios.

Python experience important-want a developer. Will train them in implementation if they don’t have. They use emr or ec2-put bootstrap scripts in python or aws batch. Implementing lambda-file upload, use python. Anything related to infrastructure-use python programming.
 

  1. Cloud migration support. Fix permission issues or work w/ teams to fix issues w/ support
  2. Also looks into infra automation. What manual executions in aws can automate. Maybe use cloudwatch tool and call service to automate. If have infra automaton, that will help.  That is where python comes in-could be lambda, bootstraps, ect.
  3. Provisioning redshift but not leveraging it. She wants her team to look at usage. Know what is usage of services and then based on that, go back and look at 150 apps supporting with more coming. Can we working w/vp’s on escalation issues down to users.

Need lambda, database (glue, parachute), custom implement aws services. Don’t’ want devops, python dev. Want cloud migration person. Need aws eng.

Any changes to services: iam, lambda, redshift, rds, sagemaker, emr, aws batch-those are ideal if have worked on those.
Don’t want devops-don’t want just deploy services, she needs them engineering services. If gone down-why gone down.

NOTE – This is NOT devops or SRE -don’t want resumes that focus on that only. This group is not doing devops. They are aws developer functions. AWS services, fine tuning, worked on aws development: lambda, batch, ecs, beanstalk and emr.

3-4 years in AWS is most important. (On prem and aws.) 2 years cloud and 5 years total. If more – then that is good.

Data migrations on prem to cloud -would be helpful.  Well aware of all aws services listed below. Troubleshoot permission issues with services. 

This is customer facing/support so have to be online.
