ROLE TITLE: Java Developer IV (STATE CLIENT EXP REQ.)
START / END: 07/07/25 to 6/30/26, with a good possibility of a multi-year extension. The state cannot post any job beyond the end of the current fiscal year (6/30/2025 in this case). So, while many jobs at the state can run for multiple years, they are all capped at the current fiscal year's start.
WORK ARRANGEMENT:
60% Remote. This position can be worked remotely 60% of the time (3 days per week), but work must be performed from within Wisconsin. The candidate would cover travel for on-site work.
Relocation is allowed. Must be relocated by the start date.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
The selected candidate will play a hands-on senior technologist/lead role in the design, development, modernization, and support of the State of Wisconsin DOT applications.
They will upgrade Java versions, update front-end technologies, and migrate apps to container-hosted environments while implementing modern DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
The candidate will develop presentation layers using technologies such as Angular and help modernize systems by utilizing microservice architectures and Agile methodologies.
Work will support DTSD Engineering projects, including GIS, migration efforts, and cloud initiatives.
