Role: Ab-initio Developer

Location : Cincinnati, Ohio

Hire Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement robust ETL workflows using Ab Initio (Graphical Development Environment (GDE), Co>Operating System, and EME).

• Analyze source systems and work with business analysts to understand data requirements and transformation logic.

• Create reusable components and templates for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.

• Optimize existing data processes for performance and scalability.

• Implement and maintain metadata and version control using Ab Initio's EME.

• Support batch processing jobs and troubleshoot production issues.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DBAs, data architects, and QA engineers.

• Document technical solutions and maintain technical specifications.

• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance compliance.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

• 7–9 years of experience with Ab Initio tools: GDE, EME, Co>Operating System, Continuous Flows, etc.

• Strong understanding of ETL principles, data warehousing, and data modeling.

• Proficiency in SQL and experience with RDBMS like Oracle, SQL Server, or Teradata.

• Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting.

• Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and metadata management.

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Spark) is a plus.

• Experience with other ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend) or BI tools is an advantage.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data pipelines is a bonus.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
