Job Description:
The role involves planning, scheduling, and executing the replacement of end-user devices, ensuring minimal disruption while maintaining data security, asset tracking, and compliance with IT policies. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders to coordinate deployments, decommission old devices, and provide end-user support.
We are seeking a Sr. System Administrator with hands-on experience in laptop refresh projects. This role will focus on device deployment, user profile migration, troubleshooting, and asset management during a large-scale hardware refresh initiative. The candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting new laptops. This role also requires travel to remote locations as part of the deployment process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform end-to-end OS deployments
• Configure user profiles and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
• Transfer user data securely from old to new devices.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues during deployment.
• Coordinate with end users to ensure minimal downtime.
• Maintain detailed records of deployments and issues.
• Provide post-deployment support and escalate major issues as needed.
• Adhere to project timelines and quality standards.
• Travel to remote office locations as required for onsite deployments.
Required Skills:
* 6+ Years of experience in IT infrastructure and asset management (Laptop Replacement).
* Prior experience in large-scale laptop/asset deployment projects.
* Must have experience with SCCM (System Centre Configuration Manager), Microsoft Intune, and Autopilot for device imaging, OS deployments and configuration.
* Strong understanding of IT security compliance and data wiping methodologies.
* Experience with inventory management systems and asset tracking.
* Experience in coordinating IT deployment projects.
* Team leadership – ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
* Resource allocation and scheduling.
* Risk and issue management.
* Excellent communication skills for coordinating with end-users and stakeholders.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for resolving deployment issues.
* Ability to manage multiple deployments efficiently and meet project deadlines.
* Preferred(Not Mandatory) Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
* CompTIA A+ or equivalent hardware certification.
* ITIL Foundation Certification.
