Job Description:
This position will serve as a GIS Developer of custom and COTS GIS Applications and Systems. The work involves, planning, developing, implementing, supporting and maintaining GIS applications/systems with minimal supervision.
Required Technical Skills:

Esri ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro, and ArcCatalog.
ArcGIS JavaScript API (3.x and 4.x), ArcGIS REST API, ArcGIS API for Python, and ArcPy.
JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML5, and CSS.
C# and .NET development.
Streamlit.
GIS application development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Publishing, tuning, and troubleshooting ArcGIS Server map services.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, enhance, and maintain custom and COTS GIS applications.
Review and modify front-end and GIS module code.
Analyze GIS data and improve application performance.
Resolve security vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with TxDOT policies.
Support end users, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Troubleshoot GIS applications, map services, and data processes.
Preferred Skills:

Azure DevOps, Jira, Git, and GitLab.
Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL.
FME Desktop/Server and ArcGIS Enterprise.
IIS, AWS, and server administration.
Agile methodology.
AI prompt engineering and coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.
