Job Title: Jira & Confluence Specialist / Atlassian Tools Administrator
Job Location: Bellevue, WA – Local Only
Contract: 12+ Months
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Jira Setup (Service Desk & Software Projects)
- Configure and launch Jira Service Management for intake, triage, and resolution of internal requests.
- Set up Agile project planning boards (Scrum/Kanban), workflows, and epics/stories/tasks for software teams.
- Customize workflows, issue types, SLAs, queues, and automation rules to align with team needs.
- Establish roles, permissions, and notification schemes.
- Provide recommendations for scalable Jira usage post-engagement.
Confluence Setup
- Design and structure Confluence spaces for technical documentation, support articles, and team collaboration.
- Create standard templates for meeting notes, release plans, knowledge base articles, etc.
- Enable Jira–Confluence integrations (e.g., linking issues, dynamic reports, knowledge base for Service Desk).
- Set up access controls and best practices for content creation and maintenance.
Training & Enablement
- Conduct walkthroughs, workshops, or knowledge transfer sessions for core team members.
- Deliver quick-reference guides or light documentation on configurations and best practices.
- Recommend ongoing governance and ownership models for Jira and Confluence.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience configuring and administering Jira and Confluence.
- Proven experience setting up Jira Service Management and Agile project structures.
- Familiarity with Jira automation, JQL, permission models, and workflow customization.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement, training, and documentation.
- Ability to work independently, deliver quickly, and align technical setup with business needs.
