Job Summary
• Location (if onsite/hybrid): Candidates must be local to Chicago, IL and be willing to go onsite to client office once per week.
• Expected duration: 9 months from candidate’s start date
• Required skills, experience, etc.: 6+ years of experience with Java, SQL, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap, JPA, JQuery, Spring Framework (including MVC)
Interview process: 2 interviews with Clarity Partners (our partner for this project): 1 virtual technical interview, potentially 1 onsite interview
Job Description
We are looking for a Java Developer to analyze, design, code, and test Java/HTML/CSS/SQL code and web applications. This position will be a full-time contract and hybrid.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze business requirements to determine appropriate technology solutions
- Write code, complete programming, perform testing, and debugging of web applications
- Design and implement web services
- Create SQL queries and database objects
- Work with non-technical end users as needed
- Follow department standards and methodologies
- Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, senior management, and customers
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
What You’ll Need
Required:
- 6 years of experience with Java 8, 11, and higher versions
- 6 years of experience with SQL
- 6 years of experience with JavaScript
- 6 years of experience with CSS
- 5 years of experience with Bootstrap
- 5 years of experience with JPA (Java Persistence API)
- 5 years of experience with JQuery
- 5 years of experience with Spring Framework (including MVC)
- Experience in agile development processes, especially Scrum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well individually and in a team environment
Preferred:
- 6 years of experience with Eclipse IDE
- 5 years of experience with AWS Cloud (CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, etc.)
- 3 years of experience with Apache Tomcat/TomEE
- 3 years of experience with JUnit & Selenium
- 3 years of experience with Python
- 3 years of experience with Jira & Confluence
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
