Job Title: Mainframe Developers

Location: Parsippany, NJ

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Developer with expertise in Mainframe COBOL. This role involves software application development, programming, and technical design, requiring strong analytical and debugging skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and be proficient in DB2, VSAM, JCL, SQL, and CICS command-level programming.

Must be local to Parsippany, NJ and be able to attend an onsite interview

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL applications based on business requirements.

·       Analyze complex business problems and develop technical solutions.

·       Work with DB2 and VSAM files, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.

·       Write and execute JCL, SQL, and CICS command-level programs.

·       Debug and resolve application issues with minimal supervision.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

·       Follow Agile and Scrum methodologies to ensure smooth software development cycles.

·       Manage tasks effectively using time management and organizational skills.

·       Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

·       10+ years of relevant experience in similar technologies, including at least 5 years of on-site client experience.

·       Bachelor’s degree in technology (Master’s preferred).

·       Strong expertise in Mainframe COBOL development.

·       Experience with DB2, VSAM, JCL, SQL, CICS, MVS, TSO, and ISPF.

·       Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       Strong analytical and debugging skills.

·       Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

 
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

·       Experience with ChangeMan, Control-M, SPUFI, QMF, CLISTs, REXX, and INSYNCH UTILITIES.

·       Knowledge of Mainframe CICS REST Web Services.

·       Experience with Mainframe JSON and XML processing.

·       Familiarity with the OmniPlus recordkeeping system.
