Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe z/OS System Programmer to support IBM z15 and z16 mainframes and z/OS 2.5 or higher. As part of the IBM zCloud resource pool, this role will support multiple clients, including Federal Retirement Investment Board (FRTIB), Bureau of the Fiscal Service (Fiscal), JP Morgan Chase, and Railroad Retirement Board (RRB).

The candidate will be responsible for MVS system programming, security compliance, system performance tuning, problem resolution, and mainframe security administration using RACF/ACF2/Top Secret. The role also involves ServiceNow (SNOW) ticket management, system automation, and backup management.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain z/OS operating system on IBM mainframes (z15/z16).
Perform SMP/E software maintenance and manage system updates, patches, and upgrades.
Ensure compliance with Federal Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG).
Administer RACF/ACF2/Top Secret security, including user provisioning, de-provisioning, and access recertification.
Monitor and optimize mainframe performance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct root cause analysis.
Manage IPL processes and support multiple LPARs as required by clients.
Define and validate data encryption methods and enforce security policies.
Perform system automation and support storage and backup management.
Work with ServiceNow (SNOW) to track, manage, and peer-review change requests.
Conduct audits and compliance reporting to ensure mainframe systems meet regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

12+ years of experience in z/OS system programming (installation, customization, and maintenance).
5+ years of experience supporting IBM mainframe system stability.
Strong expertise in SMP/E software maintenance and performance optimization.
Experience with MVS system-level configurations, parameters, and security reports.
Hands-on experience in system security compliance (STIG guidelines).
Proficiency in mainframe security (RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret security administration).
Experience in data encryption methods and security management.
Strong knowledge of IPL processes, LPAR management, and mainframe storage/backup solutions.
Experience using ServiceNow (SNOW) for change management.
Proficiency in audit processes and compliance reporting.
