Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure using Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will play a key role in driving our cloud strategy, leading architecture reviews, and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring optimal performance and cost-efficiency across our cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production environments using tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Enforce best practices for cloud architecture, cost optimization, and security compliance (e.g., IAM policies, VPC security, encryption).
• Collaborate with software development, DevOps, and security teams to ensure smooth and secure deployments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Conduct regular infrastructure reviews and performance tuning.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering with at least 3 years focused on AWS.
• Expert-level knowledge of core AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation, IAM, VPC, CloudTrail, etc.
• Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and system architecture.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and incident response in cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, DevOps Engineer – Professional).
• Experience in multi-account AWS environments with Control Tower or AWS Organizations.
• Knowledge of serverless architecture and event-driven design patterns.
• Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR).
• Experience in a high-availability or mission-critical environment.
