Senior Guidewire Configuration Developer
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Guidewire Configuration Developer with 8-10+ years of experience to join our team in Connecticut or New York. This role focuses on deep configuration expertise across Guidewire’s suite of products, requiring onsite presence with hybrid flexibility.
Location
- Connecticut or New York (Onsite/Hybrid – 3 days in office required)
Experience Required
- 8-10+ years of overall software development experience
- 5+ years of hands-on Guidewire configuration experience
Key Responsibilities
Core Configuration Expertise
- Design and implement complex business configurations in PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter
- Develop sophisticated rating algorithms and underwriting rules using Guidewire Studio
- Configure product models, coverage types, and policy structures
- Implement advanced workflow configurations and business process automation
- Create and maintain complex validation rules and business logic
Advanced Gosu Development
- Write complex Gosu code for business rules, calculations, and integrations
- Develop custom PCFs (Page Configuration Files) and screen configurations
- Implement advanced event handling and business rule frameworks
- Create reusable libraries and utility functions
- Optimize Gosu code for performance and maintainability
Product Configuration Management
- Configure insurance products including lines of business, coverage types, and rating factors
- Implement complex rating structures and premium calculations
- Design and configure claim handling workflows and settlement processes
- Set up billing configurations including payment plans and invoicing rules
- Configure reporting and analytics dashboards
System Customization
- Customize Guidewire applications to meet specific business requirements
- Implement advanced UI customizations and user experience enhancements
- Configure security models, roles, and permissions
- Develop custom business intelligence and reporting solutions
- Create automated testing frameworks for configuration validation
Required Technical Skills
Guidewire Platform Expertise
- Expert-level knowledge of Guidewire Studio and configuration tools
- Advanced proficiency in Gosu programming language
- Deep understanding of Guidewire data model and entity relationships
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud platform configurations
- Knowledge of Guidewire upgrade and migration processes
Configuration Technologies
- Advanced PCF development and UI customization
- Complex rating and underwriting rule configuration
- Workflow and business process configuration
- Integration Gateway configuration
- Report and dashboard configuration
Supporting Technologies
- SQL and database optimization
- XML and web service configuration
- JavaScript for UI enhancements

Preferred Qualifications
