Summary:

Seeking a Senior Wireless Network Engineer who specializes in enterprise and manufacturing wireless technologies. The role involves engineering, implementation, analysis, and technical guidance to support wireless infrastructure. Candidates must adhere to architectural standards, regulatory and security policies, and contribute to documentation and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Network Architects on wireless design and strategic initiatives
• Maintain current wireless infrastructure across factories, warehouses, and office environments
• Act as Tier-1 and Tier-2 escalation for wireless-related issues
• Lead the implementation of new wireless services
• Ensure compliance with wireless regulations and legal standards
• Monitor, analyze, and generate reports on wireless performance and metrics
• Author and maintain support and operational documentation (“Run-Book”)
• Must be available for occasional weekends, holidays, and after-hours work
• Participate in on-call rotation
• 100% onsite in Austin, TX

Qualifications:

• 6+ years’ experience in engineering mission-critical wireless networks
• Strong expertise in wireless solutions, including:
• IEEE 802.11 standards
• Encryption, WIDS, rogue detection
• 802.1x, RADIUS, EAP-TLS
• RF engineering for wireless planning
• Wireless client chipset/driver knowledge
• Multi-vendor technologies:
• Cisco Controllers
• Mist Wireless
• Aruba Networks (7x/9x Series Controllers)
• Aruba Airwave, Aruba ClearPass
• Aruba OS 8 (AOS8)
• Proficient with wireless tools:
• Spectrum Analyzer
• Protocol Analyzer
• Site Survey Tools
• Solid understanding of IP networking:
• L2/L3 protocols, LAN/WAN
• TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Routing, SNMP, QoS
• Experience in scripting for automation and metric collection
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
