Position: Telecom Engineer
Contract Duration: Long-term (5 years with potential extensions)

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Network and Telecom Engineer will be responsible for developing, building, testing, implementing, and supporting complex network and telecom IT infrastructure, both in the cloud and on-premises. This role will execute strategies set by architects and provide subject matter expertise in various areas related to network, messaging, microwave, radio, or telecom infrastructure. The engineer will also exercise technical supervision over assigned staff.
Essential Job Functions:
- Install, configure, test, and maintain complex networks, telecom, microwave, or radio infrastructure across various platforms.
- Develop internal and external interface compatibility for network, messaging, telecom, or radio systems and subsystems.
- Perform scripting using various tools to automate tasks across platforms.
- Design, develop, and comply with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs).
- Create and document new or modified network, messaging, telecom, and radio solutions, including installation instructions and error handling procedures.
- Collaborate with developers and oversee development operations.
- Implement automation and orchestration technologies where applicable.
- Evaluate and develop technical requirements for network, messaging, microwave, telecom, or radio frequency systems.
- Assess existing applications and platforms, providing recommendations for network performance improvements through gap analysis and identifying feasible alternative solutions.
- Develop capacity planning models, load-balancing, and redundancy solutions while monitoring networks, sites, hand-held radios, and interference events.
- Manage site acquisition activities related to network infrastructure installations.
- Participate in planning efforts alongside management.
- Perform related duties and fulfil responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in network and telecom engineering.
- Strong knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
