Data Modeler with Relational Database and AWS Cloud experience.

Job Summary:

Leading full-service investment banking and capital markets firm is seeking an experienced Data Modeler with expertise in relational databases and AWS Cloud technologies to join our data management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data models to support business intelligence, data integration, and cloud-based data warehousing solutions. This role will involve collaboration with data architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure data structures meet business and technical requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). US University required
10+ years of experience in data modeling for relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
Experience with AWS Cloud services like Redshift, S3, Glue, and RDS.
Financial experience – heavy
Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, Star/Snowflake schema, and data normalization/denormalization.
Proficiency in ER modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Erwin, or similar).
Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data integration.
Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing relational databases.
Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with NoSQL databases and big data technologies (e.g., DynamoDB, Athena, EMR).
AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data processing.
Experience in metadata management and data cataloging tools like AWS Glue Data Catalog.
