Position: Mainframe DB2 system Programmer

Job description:
• Install, migrate, maintain, configure, tune DB2/zOS in stand-alone and data-sharing modes
• Produce and maintain technical documents
• Provide technical support for problems and issues with DB2 for z/OS Software and related products, including database connectivity and replication
• Investigate and understand DB2 z/OS performance issues at a system or application level using DB2 performance reports and monitoring tools
• Investigate and resolve DB2 software issues quickly and effectively
• Assess mainframe capacity requirements to meet future growth of DB2 on a z/OS system
• Participate in evaluation of new innovative solutions
• Provide 24×7 on-call roster
Must Have
• 7+ years of experience with installing, maintaining, support, upgrade of DB2/zOS V10 or higher in a sysplex environment, preferably large installation
• Experience with SMP/E, USS, Unix Scripting, REXX, DB2Connect, DB2 Client drivers
• Experience with DB2/zOS Performance tuning, Disaster Recovery, Replication
• Ability to use DB2/zOS administration tools such as QMF, Optim, Mainview for DB2
• Knowledge of IIB, WAS, IMS, CICS, MQS, z/OS architecture, USS, Networking, WLM
• Excellent communication (oral and written), multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
