Job Title: System Architect

Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (C2H)

Location: Hybrid – Louisville, KY / Allentown, PA / Rhode Island

Job Overview:

We are seeking a System Architect with strong leadership, communication, and technical design skills to architect high-scale customer-facing platforms. This role will define architecture for modern digital systems (web, mobile, IVR) supporting seamless and secure customer experiences.

You will play a key role in setting technical direction, choosing platforms, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability, while effectively communicating with stakeholders and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

•             Lead architectural design for large-scale systems including customer, contractor, and supplier portals.

•             Define solutions for customer experiences across Web (React, Next.js), Mobile (iOS/Android), and IVR (CXOne).

•             Design secure login, payment systems, and high-availability architectures (99.9% SLA).

•             Present architecture decisions to technical and business stakeholders, including leadership groups.

•             Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture teams to align system goals.

•             Establish and enforce NFRs (e.g., scalability, security, reliability).

•             Guide selection of cloud-native platforms (Azure preferred).

•             Define system interfaces, API integration, and backend services (Java).

•             Lead engineering best practices including DevOps, CI/CD, and observability.

•             Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and platform roadmaps.

•             Champion modern cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architecture principles.

Required Qualifications:

•             8+ years of experience in software/system architecture.

•             Proven experience designing large-scale, customer-facing systems.

•             Strong understanding of modern tech stacks:

o             Frontend: React, Next.js

o             Mobile: Swift, Android

o             Backend/API: Java

o             Cloud: Azure (preferred), AWS/GCP

o             IVR: NICE CXOne

•             Experience with:

o             Microservices, event-driven systems, messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ)

o             Container orchestration (AKS, GKE, ECS, etc.)

o             CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform)

o             API Management (Apigee, Kong)

•             Excellent communication and presentation skills; must be comfortable addressing large audiences (100+ people).

•             Demonstrated leadership in setting technical direction and mentoring teams.

•             Experience with Agile methodologies and fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

•             5+ years leading architecture for cloud-native platforms.

•             7+ years of team or technical leadership experience.

•             Strong understanding of platform selection, modernization strategies, and customer journey optimization.
