Details of the position are

Position 1: ZOS SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

LocationHartford, CT/st. Paul’s MN/ Atlanta, GA/Cockeysville, MD – 2/3 days client office

 

We are looking for a Dynatrace Deployment Specialist to oversee the end-to-end implementation of Dynatrace on our server stack. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, financial domain knowledge and strategic thinking to ensure successful deployment, adoption, and optimization of the Dynatrace platform. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless rollout, enabling advanced monitoring, analytics, and alerting capabilities for our Application infrastructure.

 

JD:

 

  • Monitors system software access, performance, and resource utilization;
  • Primary responsibility for maintaining the z/OS 2.3 and JES2 software environment;
  • Work with application programmers to ensure that application problems do not adversely affect production operations;
  • Ability to provide 24/7/365 software support. This would include on-call support during off-hours;
  • Assists with the analysis, design, programming, and implementation of applications that will interface with system software;
  • Develop/maintain/monitor proper software use and security authorization policies;
  • Creates, maintains, and upgrades software systems for development and production environments;
  • Analyzes requirements and recommends policies, procedures, and standards for software systems;
  • Implement and verifies backup and recovery procedures. This would include Business Recovery concerns and associated testing;
  • Accept ownership of all mainframe-based systems, including multiple z/OS sysplexes;
  • Install new z/OS releases as they become available and configure to support Stonebranch’s requirements;
  • Keep supported systems current with the latest maintenance provided by IBM Maintain system reliability and ensure availability;
  • Provide level 1 operational support for z/VM and zLinux systems;
  • Be available after hours for emergency or exceptional situations concerning the mainframe and mainframe-based systems;
  • Resolve any system-related problems that may arise in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Skills:
  • experience with mainframe software management specific to z/OS operating system and other software products;
  • Ability to install and customize IBM and third-party software using SMP/E & IEBCOPY;
  • Experience in keeping the z/OS hardware configuration current using HCD;
  • Experience supporting leading/training of software management;
  • Possible travel and variable hours may be required;
  • Ability to write software exit program(s) and use software utilities as required;
  • Solid knowledge of mainframe JCL and utilities;
  • Ability to write/read/debug programs in a batch and online environment;
  • Ability to perform multiple activities simultaneously with minimal supervision

 

Position 2: IMS DB SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

LocationHartford, CT/st. Paul’s MN/ Atlanta, GA/Cockeysville, MD – 2/3 days client office

 

JD:

  • Experience with IMS system software and related program products. installation, migrations, customization and maintenance.
  • Must have experience with SMP/E maintenance utility, DBMS security interfaces, familiar with DBMS connection interfaces to other subsystems (DB2/CICS/etc) and

network VTAM/IP functionality.

  • Plan and perform Health Checks and Analysis
  • Very good knowledge of IMS database organization
  • Performance analysis & tuning for DBMS subsystems
  • IMS Monitoring Tool- Proficient- Required Monitoring tool
  • Proficient in JCL, TSO/SDSF/JES2/SYSVIEW/SMP/E
  • Ability to debug & diagnose DBMS system and utility software
  • Requires IMS Sysplex experience & data sharing expertise
  • Various types of IMS restarts (COLD/WARM/ERE).
  • Plan and perform DR (Disaster Recovery)
  • Knowledge about IMS SYSGEN process – Defining/Adding Transactions and Programs to the IMS system.
  • Knowledge of IMS Controls Blocks (DBDs, PSBs, ACBs).
  • Knowledge of IMS Database Recovery Control (DBRC) concepts and RECON datasets
  • Sound knowledge about IMS Logging – OLDS; SLDS; WADS;RLDS

 

 

Position 3: CICS SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

LocationHartford, CT/st. Paul’s MN/ Atlanta, GA/Cockeysville, MD – 2/3 days client office

 

JD:

  • Perform mainframe CICS software upgrades coupled with administration and tuning to support mainframe environments.
  • Provide high degree of technical support (24*7) to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disaster.
  • Analyse new versions of CICS for functionality improving systems performance and reduce cost.
  • Tracking and analyzing performance and resource utilization of CICS systems
  • CICS Performance & Tuning, CICS Monitoring CICS dump analysis, knowledge of IPCS and Fault AnalyzerAssembler coding
  • Recommend changes, upgrades, and enhancements based on the technical analysis.
  • Perform problem diagnostics and resolutions as well.
  • Participate in incident and problem management activities related to applications and CICS.
  • Encourage and ensure collaboration across functional users and vendors to provide guidance and manage different tasks with a can-do attitude.
  • Execute project and internal initiative responsibilities as assigned or delegated.
  • Walking ahead by being enthusiastic and responsible for strengthening and developing system skills.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, best practices, and run books for the operational platform.
  • experience in installing and/or customizing mainframe CICS software in Large Data sharing environments.
  • experience with CICSplex and CICS Explorer to manage CICS systems.
  • Solid understanding of resource definitions and its dependencies.
  • CF structures and its practical use in a business environment.
  • Experience with Omegamon and Fault Analyzer along with basic dump analysis skills on IPCS.
  • Experience in cloning and sunsetting CICS regions.
  • Basic understanding of CICS security with RACF.
  • Exposure to working with SMF 110 records and its practical application in terms of problem determination.
  • Strong problem determination skills in both system and application areas
  • Proficient in working with high availability environment along with alignment to process (ITIL)
  • Experience working with and maintaining other vendor tools for CICS as well as exposure to common z/OS tools like SDSF RMF etc.
  • Experience with automating CICS events via CICSplex RTA and/or system automation tools on z/OS.
