Job Title: Workday Tester – Lead
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Duration: Long Term Contract
Position Overview
The Testing Lead for Workday will be responsible for leading and managing the testing efforts for Workday implementation, upgrades, and enhancements. This role involves ensuring the quality, accuracy, an reliability of Workday configurations, integrations, and functionalities by developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies. The Testing Lead will collaborate with project teams, business stakeholder and technical teams to deliver high-quality Workday solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement a comprehensive testing strategy for Workday projects, including functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Define test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements and technical specifications.
Identify testing tools and methodologies to optimize testing processes.
Test Execution and Management:
Lead the execution of test cases, ensuring thorough coverage of all Workday modules (HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Benefits, etc.). Coordinate and manage end-to-end testing cycles, including defect tracking and resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate Workday integrations with other systems.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure alignment with testing objectives. Facilitate UAT sessions, gather feedback, and ensure successful sign-off from stakeholders.
Act as the primary point of contact for testing-related activities and updates. Quality Assurance:
Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of testers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful test execution. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of testing milestones.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Workday Expertise:
Strong understanding of Workday modules, including HCM, Payroll, Benefits, and Integrations.
Hands-on experience with Workday testing tools and methodologies.
Testing Skills:
Proficient in test planning, execution, and defect management.
Experience with testing automation tools is a plus.
Project Management:
Ability to manage multiple testing cycles and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Communication and Collaboration:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Technical Skills:
Familiarity with testing tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, or similar platforms.
Basic understanding of Workday Studio or Workday Integration Cloud is an advantage. Preferred Qualifications
Workday certification in relevant modules is highly desirable.
