Job description

JIRA Administrator/Developer

As a Jira administrator you will be responsible for all things Atlassian, in the organization. You will be responsible for building out workflows, projects, schemas and screen schemes that utilize Atlassian best practices to meet business and stakeholder needs. The ideal candidate will have managed Jira Premium Cloud instances and will offer recommendations on optimizing and securing workflows and permissions to allow for disparate teams to use Jira and Confluence in a manner that best suits their team.

Jira drives our Agile teamwork and metrics are an important part of this role as well.  Ability to build and run reports.  

As a Jira administrator you will interact with technical and project teams.

Responsibilities:

·        Manage all aspects of the Atlassian tool chain including workflows, custom fields, schemes, add-ons and integrations)

·        Subject matter expert for Atlassian tools (Jira Software, Confluence)

·        Perform advanced troubleshooting tasks on Atlassian nodes including resource utilization and stack trace analysis

·        Build new Jira projects, and author workflows based on user requirements

·        Setup integration between Atlassian and other productivity, developer and analytics tools.

·        Manage the confluence environment and create spaces, pages, page templates as necessary

·        Ensure system availability of all Atlassian tools based on defined SLAs

·        Support for s/w deployment and maintenance projects

·        Configure JIRA for lean-Agile teams to include customizable workflows, team performance reports, integration with development and CI tools.

·        Maintain proper balance between standardized views and processes that help the organization stay Agile-compliant.

·        Lead/manage all capabilities of the JIRA system (including add-ons, plug-ins, screens, workflows, schemas, troubleshooting, fields, permissions and notifications)

·        Implement cross-functional department workflows to maintain the highest level of quality

·        Responsible for administration, maintenance, upgrades, enhancements to JIRA, Confluence and integrations with other tools and plugins

·        Manage user permissions for tools according to the needs of projects and teams

·        Perform application and system administration tasks,

·        Test new versions of the tools and plug-ins to ensure compatibility

·        Research and utilize industry standard methods and techniques

·        Work with JIRA filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and JIRA administration

·        Communicate and share knowledge with internal and external contacts at all levels

·        Construct custom dashboards using various filter types in JIRA

·        Train staff on JIRA and navigating projects in the space

Basic Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or work equivalent

·        4+ years of JIRA administration experience, supporting small to large enterprise environments customizing JIRA projects with various schemes and managing complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes

·        Experience administering Atlassian Cloud, Jira Premium software and confluence. performing Atlassian (ex: JIRA software/Confluence) installations, configuration and migrations. Experience creating JIRA plugins, scripts and reports

·        Strong understanding of SDLC, ITIL and experience with configuration management database setup / support and workflow management.

·        Experience with Atlassian SSO setup, integration(s).

·        Proficient in ScriptRunner / Groovy / JQL and PowerScripts, eazyBI, Power BI

·        Develop metrics dashboards, heatmaps, reports to provide development teams and senior leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports.

·        RESTful Web Services experience

·        Ability to balance user requests and business needs against established JIRA governance best practices.

·        Working knowledge of Networking, DNS, Databases, Exchange and Active Directory, APIs.

·        Perl or Python Scripting.

·        Hands-on experience using JIRA REST APIs for integration with other tools like Slack, Monday.com, github and Integration/Automation frameworks.

·        Proven track record with Atlassian installations, migrations and upgrades.

·        Extensive experience in performing Atlassian (ex: JIRA software/Confluence) installations, configuration and migrations. Experience creating JIRA plugins, scripts and reports

·        Ability to work effectively in a team environment and us staffing across all organizational levels where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are key.

·        Ability to execute in a fast-paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities

·        Excellent interpersonal and consensus-building skills

·        Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills
