Database Analyst@Salem, OR for 6 months duration

Location: Remote or Hybrid (Salem, OR preferred; ability to work onsite as needed). Position approved for remote work. Candidate must provide their own computer, monitors, internet, and phone. OIS will provide access via VPN; no hardware/software will be issued.

Onsite Availability: Occasional onsite work may be requested (Salem, OR). Candidate must reside locally or be willing to relocate or commute as necessary. All work must be performed in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with asset management and ITSM/ITAM teams to design and manage data models in alignment with Ivanti platform requirements.
  • Translate spreadsheet-based and manual tracking into structured, normalized datasets that support scalable hardware/software asset and procurement workflows.
  • Assist in designing and building the configuration management database (CMDB), asset inventories, and purchasing structures within Ivanti.
  • Map, transform, and cleanse legacy data (hardware, software, vendor, location, financial) for seamless migration to Ivanti object and data structures.
  • Plan and execute all stages of ETL (extract, transform, load), including data mapping, validation, anomaly detection, and reconciliation of incomplete or conflicting records.
  • Support integration with procurement, inventory, and automated discovery tools.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation—data dictionaries, schemas, configuration guides—for ongoing data governance, support, and knowledge transfer.
  • Ensure database integrity, normalization, performance optimization, security, and audit trail capabilities across the asset lifecycle.
  • Work closely with internal technical teams and vendors to troubleshoot and validate data mappings and field configurations.
  • Establish data quality, deduplication, and ongoing refresh processes for bulk imports and integrations.

Required Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate must demonstrate all of the following:

  • Hands-on experience with ETL and data migration from legacy ITAM systems to Ivanti.
  • Proven ability to map legacy records and processes into Ivanti's data and object model.
  • Expertise in data cleansing, normalization, validation, and purging during Ivanti implementations.
  • Deep knowledge of Ivanti platform data structures, mapping, and best practices.
  • Strong experience with relational database design, development, and advanced SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
  • In-depth understanding of CMDB, configuration items (CI), and ITSM/ITAM concepts.
  • Ability to document schema design, data definitions, and mapping methodologies clearly.
  • Experience supporting large-scale public sector IT projects or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong organizational skills: able to independently manage priorities and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with Ivanti ITSM, Ivanti Neurons for Discovery/Configuration.
  • Familiarity with CA Service Desk Manager (SDM) and CA Asset Portfolio Management (APM).
  • ITIL v4 foundation, particularly in Asset Management, Configuration Management, and Change Enablement.
  • Experience supporting CMDB best practices and automated asset/data discovery.
  • Understanding of service catalog structures and procurement workflows.
  • Background in building scalable, auditable datasets for enterprise ITSM/ITAM solutions.
  • Experience with knowledge transfer and mentoring within distributed teams.
