Job Summary:
Client’s Enterprise Fall Transfer Team is seeking a Senior Engineer with strong experience in file transfer systems, particularly with IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG) and Sterling Integrator (SI). This role supports two core platforms: a homegrown cloud-to-cloud file transfer solution and a vendor-based solution using SFG, both integrated within AWS. The ideal candidate will have a blend of operational experience, cloud knowledge, and strong Python development skills to support and enhance these platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance file transfer solutions across two platforms: a homegrown cloud-based system and IBM Sterling File Gateway.
- Perform ongoing operational tasks including patch upgrades, vulnerability management, and production support.
- Work within agile teams (approximately 5 engineers per team) in a collaborative environment.
- Ensure secure file transfers, data encryption (PGP, AWS KMS), and adherence to cloud security protocols.
- Troubleshoot issues related to AWS services, file transfers, and application performance.
- Support interviews and knowledge sharing with other team members when necessary.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience (flexible based on depth and relevance of experience) with:
- IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG) / Sterling Integrator (SI)
- AWS Cloud Services
- Strong understanding of:
- File transmission protocols
- Encryption standards (PGP, AWS KMS)
- Cloud and network security (e.g., firewall groups, encryption at rest/in transit)
- Operational background including:
- Production support
- Vulnerability management
- Patch and configuration management
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in a distributed team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certifications (preferred but not required)
- Experience with EDI and data exchange protocols (preferred, but not a substitute for SFG experience)
- Background in data integration or file transfer solutions at the enterprise level Skills are IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG) and Sterling Integrator (SI), Python , AWS
